Over the past year due to some health struggles, I decided to make the big switch to as much natural and organic in our home as possible. Honestly I can say it's been one of the best decisions we've made for our health. 
At first, getting rid of parabens, phthalates, bleaches, etc. and avoiding pesticides, artificial coloring, and GMOs seemed like a gigantic hurdle [and like it would be impossible on a budget]. Luckily, we didn't make the switch all in one grocery run, and waited until most of the food, products, cosmetics, etc. ran out before we replaced them with the less harsh/non-endocrine disruptor versions.

Here's the thing: making the switch is a big change, but in the competitive market with so many generic brand options available now, it isn't wildly expensive or impossible anymore. Cutting out chemicals and pesticides doesn't have to break your bank or leave you without the products you love.

Some of the biggest changes I've made have really circled around eating more whole foods [less processed food product], getting more sunlight + exercise, and reading more about what's in my food or going on my skin. It's truly a privilege to be able to have food on the table in the first place, and it's not feasible for everyone in every stage of life to be able buy only organic or non-toxic products, and that's ok! Making healthier lifestyle choices is more than buying organic produce, and it's not "shameful" or wrong if you don't or aren't able to. Health is wholistic, and there's a wealth of knowledge available from reliable and helpful nutritionists, doctors, and experts available!

One of the things I love about taking time to understand biology, nutrition, and health is seeing that you don't have to just treat the symptoms of poor health; you can treat the root cause and actually attack the problem head on! There isn't one vitamin, pyramid scheme product, or smoothie recipe that will fix your health and nutrition. Instead, your exercise, environment, food, air, water, and the products you use everyday all contribute.
